The Source Makes the Observation
A supported phone or wearable source records information. Connected Care uses the available data and its source identity; opening an app screen does not take a new measurement. Dataset availability varies with devices, software, permissions, and eligibility.
Your Primary Phone Connects Supported Health Sources
Apple Health / HealthKit and Android Health Connect provide supported source pathways. Collection permissions and card-sharing decisions stay separate. A new source type does not automatically become visible to your contacts.
Freshness Belongs to the Information
A steps update does not make an older sleep record new. Observation time, Connected Care receipt time, and a browser refresh describe different moments. Missing information is not a zero and does not explain why a device has been silent.
Source Events Are Not a New Diagnosis
A heart-rate reading, a source-generated high- or low-heart-rate event, and a fall count or event are distinct records. Connected Care does not invent a clinical threshold, diagnose the event, or promise an independent fall-detection service.
Notification Is Not Confirmation
Delivery-provider acceptance, device receipt, reading, a responder’s acknowledgement, and resolution tell different parts of the story. A notification cannot prove that a person is safe or that someone is on the way.
Keep Your Care Team in the Conversation
Use the information as everyday context alongside qualified professional guidance. For urgent concerns, use the appropriate care or emergency channel rather than waiting for a reading or message to update.
